Dr. Owen Bateson, Susanville’s resident meteorological expert, checks in with the rainfall totals from November; and as dry as October was, last month was even drier!
“I measured only .51 inches of rain for an average of only 17% for the month,” said Bateson, “That brings our yearly total to 4.32 inches or 83% of average -down from 168% to 83% in just one month.”
While the National Weather Service is predicting the onset of cold winter-like weather over the next few days, the outlook for moisture, and enough moisture to help make up for the dry months, still remains dismally low with only a slight chance of measurable precipitation in the near future.
