Weather Corner: June Ends Well After Driest Spring on Record

Dr. Owen Bateson, Susanville’s resident meteorological expert, says that despite expectations our area did pretty well in June with 80% of average precipitation.

“I recorded .44 inches while average is only .55 inches for the month,” says Bateson, “That brings us to 20.77 inches for the year, or 95% of average which does not tell the whole story since we just had the driest spring on record.”
