Vicki Lozano – October 1, 2018

Vicki Lozano

Vicki Lozano, age 53 of Susanville passed away in her home early October 1st, 2018. Vicki was born on January 12, 1965 in San Diego, California to Lynda Desselle.

Growing up, Vicki was always ambitious and hard-working, traits that served her well throughout the entirety of her life. She earned her real estate license when she was just 18 years old and her broker’s license soon after. She moved to Lassen County in 1996 with her two young children whom she wanted to raise in a small town. Shortly after moving to Susanville Vicki started her own real estate and property management company called Mt. Lassen Properties and over the course of 20 years built it into the largest property management company in Lassen County.

Vicki is survived by her two children Nick, of Reno Nevada and Lena of Susanville and her yellow lab, Bobo. Vicki was a wonderful mother who supported and encouraged her children in all things. Additionally, Vicki is survived by her mother Lynda Desselle, her brother Eric Desselle and her two sisters Dana and Kelly Desselle.

In addition to being a mother and businesswoman, Vicki was passionate about being involved in the community. She served as a board member for the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce, was involved in the Susanville City Planning Commission, was a business member of HUSA and a member of Soroptimist of Susanville and the Monticola Club. Vicki also had recently discovered a love for travel and was able to visit Greece, Italy, Finland, Denmark, France and Japan in the two years preceding her death.

A celebration of life will be held in honor of Vicki on Friday, November 2nd, 2018 at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall in Susanville from 6-9pm and is open to all community members who wish to attend. The family requests that attendees wear purple, which was her favorite color.

Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other
That we still are
Call me by my own familiar name
Speak to me in the easy way you always used
Put no difference into your tone
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed
At the little jokes we always enjoyed
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was
Let it be spoken without effort
Without the ghost of shadow in it
Life means all that it ever was
I am waiting for you somewhere very near
Just around the corner
All is well.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!
