Uptown Safe and Sane Halloween Celebration Starts Monday at 3:00

Ghosts, goblins, vampires and superheroes will roam the streets of uptown Susanville on Monday, October 31st, at the City of Susanville and Historic Uptown Susanville Association’s Annual Safe and Sane Halloween celebration.

Children under 12 are invited to come and ‘Trick or Treat’ at businesses throughout uptown and Main Street will be closed to thru traffic for the safety of all the kids. Uptown Trick or Treating is co-sponsored by the City of Susanville.

From 3:00 until 5:00 uptown businesses will be passing out candy and there will be lots of fun activities for the kids, including a costume contest sponsored by Beta Mu Masters Sorority and pumpkin carving contest with cool prizes!

Even the pets have their own costume contest sponsored by Treats Dog Company.

The big uptown party will feature music by Williams Sound and Stage, dance performances by House of Dance and J&J Performing Arts’ dancers and for the third year – coffin races!

Local businesses have sponsored prizes for the winning coffin racers and it should be quite the spectacle as they fly across the finish line.
