Triple Threat 8th grade girls traveled to Chico on May 6th and 7th to compete in the Cinco de Madness tournament sponsored by the Chico Tarheels.

Triple Threat opened up against the Paradise Lynx beating them 34-22. Game two pitted Triple Threat to play the Oroville Beast Club 9th grade. This was an out of bracket game for our girls. Our girls were up for the match-winning a close game 26-23.

Our third game on Saturday was against a very tall North Valley Vipers team from Corning. Triple Threat came away with the win 30-22. This success on Saturday put us in position to play UPREP from Redding. This would be our third matchup this season with UPREP winning one and losing one. UPREP fell short losing 37-28, with Triple Threat bringing home the Championship.

Saturday night the parents organized a taco feed that was to die for. This would be the last tournament for Coach Doug Satica and I coaching these girls as they get ready to enter Lassen High School. It was an awesome night for all lots of hugs and tears but what a journey for sure.

This year we played in a total of eight AAU Tournaments winning three of them. With all of the scrimmage games and tournaments, we played a total of 42 games this season.

These girls are work horses and love the game of basketball. They are so excited to get on the floor and represent Lassen High School and the Lady Grizz.
