Three members of the Susanville City Council will be up for re-election in March and the nomination period for the three seats began on Monday.
According to Susanville City Clerk Gwenna McDonald the general municipal election will be held Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020 to elect three members to the City Council for full four-year terms.
The nomination period for these offices closes on December 6th, 2019 at 5:00p.m.
McDonald explains that if the nomination papers for an incumbent officer of the City are not filed by December 6th, voters will have until December 11th to nominate candidates other than the incumbents for that incumbent’s elective office.
If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by the Elections Code of the State of California.
