The Lassen College Athletic Department recently announced that three wrestlers from the 2019 wrestling team have all signed letters of intent, thus fulfilling their dreams of continuing their education and college wrestling careers.

Logan Garcia (149) from Hawaii, finished his sophomore season as an All-American placing fourth at the CCCAA State Championships this last December. He will be attending Doane University in Nebraska, an NAIA school.

Fellow teammate Tyler Moore (174) from Klamath Falls, signed with Corban University in Oregon, also an NAIA school. He will study Psychology and Guidance and Counseling.

Tony Rogers (184) from Chester, will be attending Life University, an NAIA school in Georgia. Tony’s sophomore season was cut short due to injury. He ended up fifth place as a freshman and was an Academic All-American for the Cougars. He will study to be a physical therapist.

“I am so proud of all three of these kids and am very excited they took care of stuff in the classroom as well as on the mat,” said Head Coach Tom Rogers.

“All three will be an asset to their prospective schools and expect to contribute right away. We are hoping to announce in December, four other wrestlers transferring out at semester from next year’s team to continue their education and wrestling careers as well.”

“The entire Lassen College family wants to congratulate and wish these student-athletes well,” added GlenYonan, Director of Athletic Operations. “It is now their opportunity to display ‘Cougar Pride’ on a larger stage.”
