Susanville Symphony Pops Performances this Weekend

The Susanville Symphony’s most popular concert performances of the year are scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, and tickets are going fast.

“The theme this year is Broadway’s greatest hits,” said symphony Artistic Director Ben Wade. “We are playing cats, Beauty and the Beast, themes from Rocky Broadway, Fiddler on the Roof and more.”

Wade also teases that, “Phantom of the Opera may or may not have a surprise or two in it.”

‘Something for everybody’ seems to be a mantra for the final performance of the 2017-2018 season, with a variety of songs that cut a broad swath from the fabric of popular music.

The concert also serves as a kickoff for the Symphony Society’s membership drive and tickets for season 16 performances will be available.

What does next season hold in store for symphony fans? “Our 16th season will feature more guest soloists, more encores, more powerhouse packed concerts and more local flavor than ever before,” says Wade.

The Susanville Symphony’s Pops Concerts will be held this Friday, June 1st at 7:00p.m. and Saturday, June 2nd at 2:30p.m. at the Susanville Assembly of God Church, 473-465 Richmond Road.
