Susanville Swing Concert Kicks Off Season Eleven This Weekend!

The Susanville Symphony’s dance band returns to the stage at the Veterans Memorial Hall this Friday and Saturday nights, bringing another great line up of musical favorites of the last 50 years.

According to band leader Matt Mullin audiences can expect to enjoy pop hits including George Gershwin’s 1935 song Summertime, which was part of his opera Porgy and Bess; I’ll Never Stop Loving You, which was released in 1955 and was a big hit for Doris Day; and the Summer of ‘42, which was released in 1971.

“I think we have something for everyone, and all of it is perfectly suited for dancing,” Mullin explained. “We also have a great lineup of singers including newcomers Alice Dickinson and Mary Beth Conlee, who will be performing with us for the first time this year.” Mullin went on to say that folks can expect a full evening of great local entertainment.

Both shows will be at the Veterans Memorial Building across from the high school, starting at 7:00p.m.

No host cocktails will be available from the American Legion. Tickets are available now at Leslie’s Jewelry store in Uptown Susanville and also at the door.

For ticket information call 530-257-2920 or 530-310-8111.
