Susanville Police Investigating Attempted Abduction Near McKinley School

According to Police Chief Kevin Jones the department has identified the male and female that were possibly involved in what was reported as an attempted abduction yesterday near McKinley School.

“We are still investigating the matter and are conducting additional interviews of witnesses,” said Jones. “We appreciate all of the information the community has provided over the last 24 hours, but we are not seeking any outstanding people or vehicles at this time.”


Investigators from the Susanville Police Department are seeking information about a reported attempted abduction that took place near McKinley school on Monday afternoon.

“We are currently investigating a report of an attempted abduction near McKinley School,” explains Susanville Police Chief Kevin Jones.

“Preliminary investigation indicates a male and female in a blue 4-door truck attempted to lure one or more kids into their truck in the area of N. Spring Street and Paul Bunyan Road around 1:15p.m., today.”

Jones said that officers are canvassing the area for any leads or video footage near the scene.

“We do not have any firm description of the suspect, or suspects, other than a male and female.”

Anyone who saw the described vehicle or possible suspects in the area around that time should call the Police Department at 257-2171.
