The Susanville Police Department is investigating a Friday evening assault and robbery which sent an Orchard Street resident to Banner Medical Center with multiple injuries.
According to Police Lieutenant Matt Wood, at around 5:45p.m. on January 25th officers from the department responded to Orchard Street for a reported assault with injuries. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim who was suffering from injuries to his face.
The victim reported that two subjects had entered his residence and assaulted him by spraying him with pepper spray or mace. The victim also reported that he was punched and kicked several times by both subjects.
Prior to the arrival of the officers, the suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money in an unknown vehicle.
The victim was treated at Banner Lassen Medical Center for a fractured nose and released.
Initial interviews by law enforcement revealed that one of the suspects was recognized by the victim as 29 -year old Susanville resident Shannon Puckett. The other suspect was initially only known as ‘Bill’ and the investigation led to 54 year-old Susanville resident William Egan.
On January 26th Egan was located at a home in the 800 block of Willow Street and taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Lassen County Jail on the charges of robbery, kidnapping, and false imprisonment and held on $60,000.00 bail.
Shannon Puckett remains at large and his whereabouts are unknown at this time.

The Susanville Police Department was assisted by the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement officers from the U.S. Forest Service during the investigation.
