24-year old Sean Antonio Gracia, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to eight years in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Tuesday, for a shooting that occurred in the area of 780 Hall Street December 6th, 2020.

Officers from the Susanville Police Department arrived on scene at a Hall Street apartment complex last December to discover an adult male suffering from an apparent gun shot wound to the legs. The man received medical treatment for his wounds, but refused to give a statement regarding how they were inflicted or by whom.

“A witness on scene told police that the victim, Gracia, and third adult male were observed outside the apartment complex. The men exchanged words and then, according to the witness, Gracia, who was in possession of a shotgun, shot the victim in the lower area of his body,” explained Lassen County District Attorney Susan M. Rios in details released Thursday.

During a police canvass of the apartment complex, officers were unable to locate any other eye-witnesses to the event.

“Gracia was taken into custody the next day during a separate, unrelated incident. He pled guilty to assault with a firearm and admitted to personally discharging the firearm and inflicting great bodily injury.”

The involvement of the other adult male is still under investigation. Anyone having information regarding the December 6th shooting is encouraged to contact the Susanville Police Department or Lassen County District Attorney Investigations.
