Susanville Fire Department Holding Annual Open House Tomorrow

It’s time for Fire Truck Rides! October is National Fire Prevention Month and the Susanville Fire Department is inviting everyone to stop by for their fun-filled, family-oriented annual Open House at the Fire hall on Main Street this Saturday, October 12th.

The theme of this year’s Fire Prevention Month is, “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!” and the folks at the Susanville Fire Department will be helping to educate everyone about the small but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.

Did you know?
In a typical home fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Escape planning and practice can help you make the most of the time you have, giving everyone enough time to get out.

Plan ahead for your escape. Make your home escape plan and practice today. Follow this link to the National Fire Prevention Week website for more information about creating home escape plan.

The event, which runs from 10:00a.m. until 2:00p.m., will feature demonstrations, tours, fire engine rides, prizes and giveaways.

For more information call 257-5152 ext. 1601.
