Six Lassen Students Earn Future Farmers of America State Degree

Six members of the Susanville Future Farmers of America received the State FFA Degree this year. The National FFA allows 3-pins to be worn under the name on an FFA jacket, the highest degree, highest honor and highest award.

Once a member receives the state degree it then becomes the only pin that is on their jackets, placed above their name with pride.

Some of the requirements for receiving this degree include earning and investing at least $1,000, working 500 hours on their projects, 25 hours of community service, understanding parliamentary law, have proficient speaking abilities and be active in FFA at the local, regional and state level.

Only around 4% of California’s 95,000 FFA members receive this degree each year.
