Six Injured in Johnstonville Road Traffic Collision

Officers from the Susanville Police Department responded to the intersection of Johnstonville Road and Skyline extension Monday, at approximately 2:30p.m., after receiving reports of a traffic accident involving injured motorists.

“Upon arrival,” said Sergeant Allen Sobol, “officers located two vehicles involved in the collision. Medical personnel were immediately requested for numerous patients.”

Cal-Fire personnel, with the assistance of the Susanville Fire Department, assisted in the extraction of the driver and the passenger of the 2006 Toyota Prius.

The four occupants of the other involved vehicle, a 2018 Dodge truck, were able to self-extricate themselves out of the vehicle.

According to Sobol all involved parties were taken to Banner Lassen Medical Center for medical treatment.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

The Susanville Police Department thanked the Susanville Fire Department, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, the California Highway Patrol and Cal-Fire for their assistance.
