Shop Local! Lassen Chamber Promoting Small Business this Saturday in Susanville

Susanville shoppers are invited to Shop Small, this Saturday, November 30th, as the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their first, ‘Small Business Saturday.’

“Small Business Saturday began 10-years ago and is sponsored by American Express,” explains Chamber Executive Director Patti Hagata. “The nationwide event, held the Saturday after Thanksgiving, strives to promote small, locally owned, brick and mortar businesses across the United States.”

You can pick up a shopping passport at Margie’s Book Nook, the Chamber office or a variety of other local businesses.

Collect at least 5 stamps in your passport between November 30th and December 20th and you’ll be entered in a drawing to win a gift basket full of local goodies, valued at over $100.

“The Chamber office will serve as the ‘Welcome Station,’ providing refreshments and guidance to shoppers. We will have a list of participating businesses that will serve as a shopping guide.”

There will be refreshments at the Chamber office, located on Main Street next to Burger King, from 8:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. on Saturday.

Once you’ve collected your passport stamps, you can drop off your passport with your name and phone number to the Chamber, Margie’s Book Nook or Zaengles Furniture before December 20th. The winner will be announced on Monday, December 23rd. There is no purchase necessary to participate.

“The fate of our economic vitality lies with healthy small businesses – working together, we can ensure that our businesses flourish, and our community members understand the importance of supporting those who support their community. Small Business Saturday is just the beginning of what will be an extended campaign educating our shoppers and providing them with a Passport to our Community.”

Participating local businesses include; All Seasons Heating and Air; Beauty Corral; Bottle and Brush Art Bar; Diamond Saw Shop; Every Bloomin’ Thing; Forest Office Equipment; Honey Lake Firearms; Idaho Grocery; Johnson’s Shoes; Milwood Florist & Treats Dog Company; Sierra Jewelry Company; Supreme Graphics; Zaengles Carpet One Floor and Home; Lassen Ale Works; Margies Book Nook; Artisan Coffee; Pizza Factory in Janesville and Susanville; El Tepeyac Grill; Morning Glory Dairy; 4-All Seasons Storage; Sierra Desert Properties and Eagle Lake RV Park.
