The name of a Little Valley man with a gunshot wound to his face who was flown to a Redding area hospital for treatment last Saturday has been identified by the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 17th, (read our earlier coverage here) deputies responded to Little Valley, in the northern part of Lassen County, after receiving a report that a Little Valley man had arrived at a residence with a gunshot wound to his face.
According to Sheriff’s Office Captain Kevin Jones the gunshot victim in this case has been identified as 27-year old Little Valley resident, Shane Estacio.
“Although varying statements about the incident were received,” explained Captain Jones, “Estacio indicates he accidentally shot himself while cleaning his pistol at his residence.”
Estacio remains in a Redding hospital receiving treatment for his injury.
