Sheriff’s Office Update: Susanville Man Arrested After Brief Foot Pursuit

Thursday, December 5th, 2019

A Susanville man was arrested last Wednesday after leading Lassen County Sheriff’s deputies on a brief foot pursuit, injuring two deputies before he could be taken into custody.

LCSO Deputies responded to an address on Limoneria Avenue in Susanville at around 4:30p.m., in an attempt to locate an individual with an active felony, no bail arrest warrant for Lewd and Lascivious Acts on a Child Under 14 and Violation of Probation.

“Upon arriving at the address,” explains LCSO Lieutenant Dave Woginrich, “deputies made contact with the residents and subsequently saw an individual jumping out of a window matching the description of the individual they were attempting to locate.”

The suspect attempted to evade arrest by running away, even after repeated verbal orders to stop by the deputies.

“After a brief foot pursuit, the individual was tackled by a deputy, but was able to escape and run away. When the individual was confronted by another deputy, he lowered his shoulder and rammed into the chest of the deputy. The deputy and the individual fell to the ground and the individual continued to resist arrest, but the deputies were able to take him into custody.”

While trying to take the individual into custody, according to Woginrich, one deputy sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital. The other deputy sustained moderate injuries and is currently off-duty recovering.

The individual, identified as 21-year old Susanville resident Jakobey Robberson, was booked into the Lassen County Jail on the felony no bail arrest warrant, two counts of Resisting an Executive Officer and two counts of Battery on a Peace Officer with Injury.
