Sheriff’s Office Seeking Public Comment on OHV Grant Program

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public comment regarding their participation in the California State Parks Off-Highway Vehicle Grant Program.  This year’s preliminary applications are available for review at http://ohv.parks.ca.gov.  The public review period will be March 5th, through May 6th, 2019.

Questions or comments may be submitted on the aforementioned website where you can review the application.

Direct questions to the Sheriff’s Office may be emailed to Sergeant Dustin Russell at [email protected].

“During this grant cycle, the Sheriff’s Office plans to acquire another snowmobile to strengthen our fleet,” explains Russell.

“This year has shown us the need for a deep powder machine.  We want to make sure we are able to access all areas where people may recreate with their over the snow vehicles.”

Sergeant Russell said the Sheriff’s Office is planning to obtain a 4-seat side by side this year.

“The Sheriff’s Office wants to increase our capability of providing transport to those in need of extrication from an off-highway vehicle incident.”

Public input may be expressed during an open meeting on Tuesday, March 26th, at 5:00p.m.  The meeting will be located at the Sheriff’s Office, located at 1415 Sheriff Cady Lane.
