Sheriff Growdon Lifts Walker Fire Evacuation Orders in Milford

Lassen County Sheriff Dean Growdon has announced that effective this morning, September 16th, at 7:00a.m., the evacuation warning in place for the town of Milford has been lifted.

“I would like to thank all of the Firefighters and National Incident Management Team 4 for their hard work on the fire,” Growdon said in the announcement.

“I would also like to thank the public for their cooperation and support during this challenging time, as well as all of the first-responders who aided the Sheriff’s Office in the evacuation and re-population of Milford.”

Growdon thanked the Lassen County Office of Emergency Service, California Highway Patrol, Cal Fire, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, California Office of Emergency Services, Lassen County DA’s Office, Lassen County Probation, Lassen County Road Department and the Milford Fire Department.

The fire area remains closed due to hazards and the larger amount of firefighting equipment working in the area.
