PSREC Update: Beckwourth Fire Damages Power and Telecom Infrastructure

Updated 3:30p.m. PSREC has been able to re-energize their transmission lines and most North System members are back on, with the exception of the Doyle area where they are slowly re-energizing distribution lines as fire conditions allow.

Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative crews are assessing wildfire damage from the Beckwourth Complex Fire where it is safe to do so, according to the utility’s Member Service Manager, Corby Erwin. PSREC members should be prepared for additional power outages as repairs occur. Power outages could last multiple hours.

Plumas-Sierra Telecommunications experienced damage to its infrastructure and a minimum of three days is expected before internet service repairs can begin, depending on continued fire activity.
