Plumas-Sierra Asking Customers to Conserve During Butte County Fire

Because of the loss of Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric’s main transmission feed, which was affected by the Camp Fire in the Feather River Canyon, customers of the utility are on backup power and are being asked to conserve as much energy as possible.

Conservation will be necessary until the power company is able to return to their normal power feed.

“We do not yet know when we will be able to return the system to normal,” explains spokesperson Corby Erwin, “and conservation will help us avoid rolling blackouts when loads increase in the evenings and early mornings when our load is the highest.”

“Thank you for your cooperation in keeping everyone’s power on.”
