Plumas County Announces First Confirmed Case of COVID-19

Plumas County’s Public Health Department announced Tuesday afternoon that the county has received notification of a positive COVID-19 test result from Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center for a resident in the east area of Plumas County.

“An investigation is underway to determine if any other residents may have been exposed,” explains PCPH Public Information Officer Lori Beatley.

“Exposed residents identified during the investigation will be contacted by a member of the Public Health COVID19 Response Team for further screening.”

According to Beatley, Plumas Public Health and Plumas County Office of Emergency Service are working closely with local health care partners and the California Department of Public Health to determine needs and resources at this time.
