On the evening of July 3, 2019, Phoebe passed away peacefully of natural causes or in her words “of age” at Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, CA. Phoebe was 94 years old. Phoebe was being visited and comforted by her son, Patrick and daughter-in-law Kathe along with caring staff of Banner Lassen Medical Center at the time of her death.

Phoebe Deitchler was born in Lusk, Wyoming October 29, 1924, to parents Albert and Ida May Guibault. After graduating high school in Lusk, Phoebe married Floyd Deitchler and they had two sons, Russell and Patrick. Besides being a wonderful wife and mother, she also spent time working as a teacher and for the postal service. She and Floyd lived many years in Rosebud, MT., while their sons were in school. After their youngest son graduated, she and Floyd moved to Billings, Mt. After the passing of her husband, Floyd, Phoebe moved to Lake Almanor, CA to be closer to her sisters. She lived in Lake Almanor until 2016 when she moved into Eagle Lake Village in Susanville, CA., where she resided until her time of death.

Phoebe loved crocheting, sewing, reading and gardening. She loved sitting outdoors enjoying the warmth of the sun.

Phoebe’s faith in God gave her comfort and strength throughout the years and especially at the time of her passing.

Phoebe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd Deitchler, her son Russell Dietchler; a brother, Eugene Guibault, sisters Bertha Mortimer and Patricia Guibault.

Phoebe is survived by her son, Patrick Dietchler and daughter-in-law, Kathe Dietchler of Helena, MT., three grandsons, Jerrod (Lindsey) Deitchler, Clarksville, TN., Russell (Angie) Deitchler, Buckeye, AZ., Dustin (Amy) Deitchler, Helena, MTY. Eight great-grandchildren: Ryan Deitchler, Sheridan, WY., Kobey Deithchler, Sheridan, WY., James Deitchler, Aurora, CO., Colt, Avery, Madyx Deitchler, Helena, MT., Brodey Deitchler, Buckeye, AZ., Nova Deitchler, Clarksville, TN., a nephew, Fred (Patti) Guibault, Salton Sea, CA., a niece, Marlene Schmidt, Sheridan, WY., as well as great nieces and nephews.

Phoebe’s family would like to give a special thanks to the caring staff at Eagle Lake Village Memory Care in Susanville, CA. Also a special thanks to Dr. Yaftali, Austin, Jennifer, Rodalle and other caring staff at Banner Lassen Health Center in Sauvnille, CA. Thank you to Teryn and Kelly of Walton’s Colonial Mortuary for their assistance in making final arrangements.

Cremation has taken place with graveside service in Chester Cemetary in Chester at 1:00p.m. on July 23rd.
