Office Of Education Planning Special ‘Virtual’ Sober Grad Activities for Lassen Seniors

The Lassen County Office of Education is planning a different kind of party for graduating high school seniors this year as the COVID-19 pandemic forces traditional Sober Graduation activities to go virtual.

“We are looking forward to celebrating with all 2020 Lassen County Graduates virtually on Friday, June 5th at 9:00p.m.,” explains LCOE Program Manager James Hall.

“We recognize that this is not your typical Sober Graduation, but we think it will still be a great time.”

From June 1st through June 4th, the Office of Education will make a ‘Celebration in a Box!’ available at high schools around the county for each graduate to pick-up. All graduating Lassen County seniors are invited to participate.

The box full of fun party goodies will allow students attending the virtual party to celebrate with the same items no matter where they are watching.

Hall confirmed that one of our special guests for the evening will be actor and comedian, Luke Null. Null is a comedian best known as a cast member on Saturday Night Live during its forty-third season.

“At the end of our time we will be holding the ever popular Community Prize Giveaway and we will be giving away the grand prize presented by Wheels West of Susanville.”

Students must be present ‘virtually’ to be eligible for prizes.

If you are a graduating senior you can register for the Sober Grad activities on Zoom by clicking here.
