NWS Weather Bulletin: Winter Weather Advisory in Effect Until 4:00p.m.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4:00 this afternoon and the National Weather Service office in Reno is warning residents of Lassen, and portions of Plumas and Sierra Counties, to expect more snow and gusty winds throughout the day.

Here on the valley floor forecasters expect total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches with 3 to 9 inches west of Highway 395 and 10 to 15 inches above 6,000 feet.

Winds will gust as high as 60mph this morning.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute with low visibility and slick road conditions. Strong winds could cause tree damage.

Even light snowfall causes major travel delays, especially during periods of high traffic volume. Be sure to allow extra time to reach your destination. Leave extra space between vehicles since it takes longer to stop on slick roadways.

The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
