Mike Dillon – October 31, 2021

Mike Dillon

Mike Dillon left this world October 31, 2021.  Michael Shawn Dillon was born to Philip and Claudia Dillon on March 26th, 1969 in Susanville, California where he spent his whole life.  A lot of big events happened that year, Woodstock, landing on the moon, and the birth of Mike Dillon.

Mike was a free spirit that was unafraid to face the unknown.  He would charge ahead with a single minded determination. As an adult, he worked at Susanville Motors, Big O Tires, and Lassen Beverage before he created Gearhead Computer Connection with his wife and worked in that business until his health deteriorated.  He then worked from home until his passing.

Mike met his wife Wendy Martin (Edwards) while at work in 1989 at which time they immediately began dating.   They married September 2, 1995 at a remote ranch with just a few close friends and family in attendance. Three years later on August 23rd, 1998 their only child, Gage Scott Lee Dillon was born and their lives forever changed.  Mike spent every moment he could with Gage teaching him how to build mud roads and sandcastles, and in later years to build motors, robot remote controlled lawnmowers and computers, and how to repair any electronic device.

Mike had many hardships due to his health, but never wavered in his zest for life.  Always busy, never still, living his life to its fullest and bringing smiles to all who knew him.  Mike enjoyed his nature hikes and bike rides, filming all the beauty around him.  He found pleasure in his menagerie of animals.  His gearhead mind kept him busy with computers, cell phones, cars, and motorcycles. He was a whiz at anything he put his mind to.

Mike was a kind person and helped anyone that needed his expertise.  He was proud of his robust garden and how his roses were admired.  He started the Weatherguesser weather station and made videos that had quite the following on Facebook and several other media platforms.  His beautiful photographs graced many media outlets to include the Facebook page From Dusk to Dawn, The Lassen County Northeastern California 2019 Book Of Maps cover page to name a few.  He was also an avid keeper of bees,  but his pride and joy were his wife Wendy and son Gage.  They were his priority, his mission in life.

Mike is survived by his Father and Mother, Philip and Claudia, his wife Wendy and his son Gage.  Mike had one sister, Paula, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of his life on March 26, 2022, at a location to be announced at a later date.  We would like to thank everyone for their loving kindness during this time of bereavement.  Mike will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
