The Miss Lassen County contestants are getting ready for their big pageant this Wednesday, July 17th, at the 2019 Lassen County Fair! The annual scholarship pageant, held in the grandstands, starts at 8:00p.m. and you can click here to buy your tickets online.

The theme for this year’s fair is Backyard Beach Party and pageant Director Shelley Bennett explains that for the photo shoot contestants came up with the idea that a Lassen County beach party is something unique.
“Here in Lassen County a beach party in doesn’t usually consist of sand and surfing,” says Bennett, “but of our lakes and rivers, fishing and swimming and enjoying the amazing backyard that we all have access to.”
That discussion inspired the photo shoot on the beach at Emerson Lake near the Diamond Mountain Golf Course.
Now let’s meet our 2019 Miss Lassen County Pageant contestants!
We asked each of the contestants where their favorite backyard beach is, and what they like to do there.
Elena German, 16-year old daughter of Tony German and Dawn German-Howe, is sponsored by Milwood Florist and Nursery and Lassen County Mini Moos.
Her favorite backyard beach? “My very own backyard – the fun I’ve had with my family from bonfires to barbecues has yet to be passed up!”
Caylee Slama, 16-year old daughter of Laura Hammon is sponsored by Grocery Outlet Bargain Market and Hair Hunters.
Her favorite backyard beach? “Lake Almanor because I’ve made so many memories with my family and friends. I enjoy going on a nice swim, soaking up the sun, and camping with my friends.”
Hailey Gregor, 16-year old daughter of Matt and Kim Gregor is sponsored by the California Correctional Supervisor’s Organization and Guess Plumbing.
Her favorite backyard beach? “Lake Almanor because I have made so many memories there. I like to go wake boarding and surfing as well as sit around the campfire with friends and family.”
Caitlyn Crosby, 16-year old daughter of Keith and Naomi Crosby, is sponsored by Beta Mu Masters Sorority.
Her favorite backyard beach? “Lake Almanor where I like to go tubing.”
Ashlyn Clark, 17-year old daughter of Larry and Stacy Clark, sponsored by Farmers Insurance and Egan Ranch.
Her favorite backyard beach? “Lake Almanor because I enjoy being with my family, roasting marshmellows, wakeboarding and being with friends.”
Charity Richards, 17-year old daughter of Madeline and Ken Witt, is sponsored by County Cleaners and Mayor Kevin Stafford and his wife Laura.
Her favorite backyard beach? “Antelope Lake where I like to swim and barbecue.”
Jayleih Dodge, 17-year old daughter of Joe and Jaquelle Dodge, she is sponsored by Dear Beautiful You Design Co. and Joan’s Studio of Dance.
Her favorite backyard beach? “Bucks Lake because I have so many memories there and I make more every time I go. I love to camp, swim, kayak, and make all sorts of yummy food from tacos to s’mores with my friends and family.”
