Lorna F. Shaw

Lorna F. Shaw passed away on March 27, 2018. She was born to Martin and Florence Gilbert in Notus, Idaho May 27, 1933. She grew up Nipomo, CA and married Norman L. Shaw of Santa Maria, CA in 1949.

They lived in Santa Maria until 1994 when they moved to Susanville to be near their only child, Vicki Palmer. Lorna was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.

Her husband Norman preceded her in death in 2016. They had a wonderful life together. They had time to travel and enjoy their beautiful property in Susanville. They were married just short of 67 years.

She is survived by her daughter Vicki Palmer of Susanville, her grandson Jason Montgomery, great grandson, Brice Montgomery, both of Cuyama, CA and a sister, Carmen Star of Las Vegas, NV.

A small gathering for internment will be at the Diamond Crest Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 6th

In her last years Lorna became a resident of Lassen Nursing and Rehabilitation. Her daughter Vicki would like to express a special thanks and her gratefulness to the employees of that facility for their loving kindness and compassionate care.

Why Pre-plan?

Thinking about your own funeral leaves most people feeling a little uneasy, but more adults are finding that pre-planning a funeral offers great emotional and even financial security for them and their families. With pre-planning, families find comfort in knowing that the funeral reflects what their loved one wanted. It also gives them peace of mind to not have to make important decisions at a stressful time. Click here to visit Walton’s Funeral Home

365 days a year we act as eyes and ears for our neighbors, and the lens that nearly 20,000 people each month see Susanville through. Think of that – when people on the internet around the world see Susanville, they see us on SusanvilleStuff.com.

Why We Need Reader Support

Our independent, local coverage takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. It is also not particularly lucrative. Our primary revenue source, banner advertising on SusanvilleStuff, is simply not enough by itself, and we increasingly need to rely on reader support to pay the bills.

Every dollar our readers contribute goes towards making SusanvilleStuff a stronger voice in the community with better, more comprehensive content. We are committed to never putting up a paywall for our readers, and content on SusanvilleStuff will always be free. These contributions are completely voluntary, and very appreciated.

Thank You! Jeremy and Marshel Couso,
    Publishers, SusanvilleStuff.com
