Susanville Elks Honor Old Timers
June 17, 1942

Twenty-five members of the Susanville Elks club who have held membership for fifteen years or longer were honored at a special Old Timer’s night, meeting Thursday in the local Elks home.

Opening with a dinner at seven o’clock the evening was spent in reminiscing with charter members of the club telling of the history and development of the local fraternal organization.

A total of sixty-eight members including the old timers were in attendance and heard charter members Dr. G. S. Martin, Hardin Barry and Dr. F. L. Hill trace the establishment and growth of the organization from its inception here.

Especially honored were Fred T. Abbay and A. J, Mathews, both of whom are senior members in Elkdom with twenty-nine years of continuous membership.
