Tree Planted Along Highway
February 12, 1934

Another mile of cedar trees have been planted on both sides of the highway at the east approach to Susanville. Last year one mile along the highway was planted. It is the plan to add a mile or more each year until the trees are planted along the highway to the Nevada state line.

Susanville has to care for the trees the first year but after that period the state highway department cares for them.

Every tree that was planted last year lived.
