Café at School is Shut Down
April 18, 1959

Lassen Union high school district trustees have closed the cafeteria serving the high school and Lassen Junior College because of operating losses.

The recommendation of Supt. Vernon Greenleaf to close the cafeteria had been concurred in by a unanimous vote of the Lassen Parent-Teacher Association.

Greenleaf said the cafeteria has lost money for three years, and that he had received only three replies to a request of 450 parents asking for suggestions.
