LMUD Launches COVID-19 Emergency Energy Assistance Program

In order to alleviate some of the financial burden caused by the current pandemic, Lassen Municipal Utility District has allocated funds to help customers who have suffered a decrease in wages due to circumstances caused by COVID-19 response.

“The program offers financial assistance to households whose income has been decreased by at least 30% on or after March 25, 2020 due to lay-offs, reduction in working hours and business closures,” explains LMUD Public Relations Manager Theresa Phillips.

Once qualified, funds will be applied directly to the customer’s electric bill.

The program is funded by LMUD and administered through the Susanville Salvation Army.

In addition, LMUD has instituted a moratorium on service disconnection for past due bills. The moratorium will be in place through April 30th.

If you, or someone you know, is having difficulty meeting their utility bill, please call LMUD’s customer service department at 257-4174 or the Susanville Salvation Army at 257-0314.

For complete program details, visit, www.lmud.org or the utility’s Facebook page at facebook.com/lassenmud.
