Lights Lit at Empty Arnold Field Friday in Tribute to Lassen High Students

Lassen High School, joining hundreds of other schools from across the nation, lit the lights at Arnold Field to show support for the senior class of 2020 Friday night. The lights at the football field were lit for twenty-minutes beginning at exactly 8:20p.m., to honor students who have seen their school year disrupted by the COVID-19 virus.

Supporters of the high school seniors drove in a wide circle around the high school campus, the back parking lot, down Weatherlow, up Riverside Drive and back around to the high school honking their horns. It was a wild cacophony that could be heard all over town. Cars lined Riverside Drive above the high school and filled up the school’s back parking lot.

“The lights are a beacon to show that we are thinking of our students and that eventually we will come back together and participate again,” explains LHS President/Superintendent Morgan Nugent.

We have video taken from Riverside drive during the Senior celebration.
