Lassen Probation Department Walks to Raise Money for Suicide Prevention

Staff from the Lassen County Probation Department taking part in the virtual version of the 2020 Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention

The Lassen County Probation Department took some time last Friday to walk for Suicide Prevention, raising $1,555 as part of this year’s Out of the Darkness Walk.

This is the agency’s 2nd year participating in the walk, which they were also able to sponsor. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the annual event has been moved to a virtual format.

“While the walk is going to look different this year, our mission to Save Lives and Bring Hope to Those Affected by Suicide has not changed,” explains organizer Nicole Lamica.

“We are a strong and resilient community, united in our effort to fight suicide, raise awareness, educate our communities, support those who have lost loved ones, and provide resources for those who may be struggling. We use our voices and share our stories to provide hope.”
