Lassen National Forest Seeking Volunteer Summer Campground Hosts

Lassen National Forest is looking for friendly faces to serve as volunteer campground hosts at several of their campgrounds. The duties of the host include greeting visitors and providing information about the Forest and the surrounding area, monitoring the campground for issues, cleaning restrooms, and light maintenance duties.

The work schedule is 20-30 hours per week, 5-days a week, with consecutive days off. The host needs to have an RV or travel trailer and are provided with a campsite for the season and dump stations. Services available are dependent on the campground.

ā€œOur campground hosts are an important part of the LNF team,ā€ said Deb Bumpus, Forest Supervisor. ā€œThey greet our visitors and provide them with important information about our Forest.ā€

LNF has host opportunities at:

Almanor Ranger District ā€“ 20 hours per week:

  • Almanor North Campground
  • Cherry Hill Campground
  • Domingo Springs Campground
  • Elam Campground
  • Potato Patch Campground
  • Rocky Knoll Campground
  • Soldier Meadows Campground

Hat Creek Ranger District ā€“ 30 hours per week:

  • Bridge Campground
  • Cave Campground
