Susanville Mayor Mendy Schuster and members of the City Council honored outstanding students from Lassen High’s Class of 2020 Wednesday at the council’s regular meeting.
Mayor Schuster read a special proclamation recognizing this year’s Lassen High Valedictorians, Kaitlyn Nakanishi and Gabriella Nielsen.
She also presented a gold key to the City to members of the senior class officers who were introduced by class advisor Shelley Bennett.
Senior Class President Landon Bennett accepted the honor, saying, “On behalf of the Class of 2020 I would thank the council and the mayor for giving us this key to the city. It’s sweet!”
Bennett was joined at the dais by Senior Class Vice-President Jayleigh Dodge, Class Secretary Elena German and Class Treasurer Keegan Kirack.
