Historic Uptown Susanville Association’s Annual Safe & Sane Halloween will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2019, from 3-5pm, in Historic Uptown Susanville. Main Street will be closed during the event to thru traffic, from Weatherlow Street to the top of Main Street. The event will include a Pet Costume Contest, Children’s Costume Contest, and Coffin Races. Plan to bring your little ghosts and goblins, ages 12 and under, for a fun filled afternoon. All area businesses, even if you are not in the historic district, are invited to participate and can reserve a spot to join in. The Chamber is pleased to welcome Melanie Westbrook, Broker/Owner of Sierra Desert Properties, who was elected to a three year term on the board of directors at the October board meeting. She is an active member of the community, serving on many community organizations, as well as being a member of the City of Susanville Planning Commission. Please join us in welcoming her to the board of directors.
There is a new friendly face that has joined our staff at the Chamber office. We are happy to have Hannah Ardito serving as the new office assistant. Hannah grew up in Susanville and is excited to be at the Chamber to greet and assist visitors looking for area information. Stop by to say hi and welcome her to the Chamber. Just a reminder, when you stop in to meet Hannah, Chamber members should be sure to bring brochures and businesses cards to restock the office with your information so that we can help to promote your business throughout the year.
Learn what resources are available to help small businesses in Lassen County by attending the Susanville Small Business Workshop, which will be held Wednesday, October 30th, from 3 to 5pm, at the Business and Career Network, located at 1616 Chestnut Street, Susanville. The free workshop is being presented by the Sierra Small Business Development Center and Small Business Administration, US Bank, Alliance for Workforce Development, with support from the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce. During the free workshop attendees will learn about available business resources, explore financing options, and learn about government contracting opportunities.
