The Historic Uptown Susanville Association’s Annual Safe & Sane Halloween will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2019, from 3-5pm, in Historic Uptown Susanville. Main Street in the Historic Uptown area will be closed during the event to thru traffic. The event will include a Pet Costume Contest, Children’s Costume Contest, and Coffin Races. Plan to bring your little ghosts and goblins, ages 12 and under, for a fun filled afternoon. All area businesses, even if you are not in the historic district, are invited to participate and can reserve a spot to join in. For more information contact Chairperson, David Teeter at 257-2392
The Chamber board will meet on Thursday, October 10th for the monthly board meeting, beginning at noon, at Diamond Mountain Casino in the Hotel Conference Room. The board encourages member attendance and comment; if you would like to address the board please contact the office staff prior to the board meeting so that you can be added to the agenda.
The board is accepting applications to fill a three year term on the board of directors. Chamber members who are interested in serving on the board are encouraged to apply. Contact the Chamber staff at 257-4323 to have an application forwarded to you or stop by the chamber office, located at 1516 Main Street, to pick up an application. Deadline to submit a board application is Monday, October 7, 2019.
Mark your calendar and plan to attend the next Chamber Mixer that will be held at Sierra Desert Properties (613 Main Street in Historic Uptown Susanville) and will be co-hosted Les Schwab Tire on Thursday, October 10th. The evening mixer will include food, no-host bar, and live music. Everyone is welcomed to attend and we encourage you to bring a friend.
The Magical Country Christmas Committee has begun preparing for this year’s event that will be held on Saturday, December 7th,  in Historic Uptown Susanville. The Christmas tree at the top of Main Street will be going up the week of Thanksgiving. If you are interested in serving on the committee contact the office staff at 257-4323. Chairperson, Julie Brown, and the committees are excited to begin planning to make this another great event.
