Bring your little trick-or-treaters to the annual HUSA Safe n’ Sane Halloween Wednesday, October 31st, from 3 to 5pm, in Historic Uptown Susanville. Main Street will be closed in the uptown district for safe passage of participants. This event will include trick-or-treating for children 12 and younger, costume contest, pet contest, music, and coffin races. A Celebration of Life for chamber board member and businesswoman, Vicki Lozano, who passed away recently, will be held on Friday, November 2nd, from 6 to 9pm at the Veteran’s Memorial Building, 1205 Main Street Susanville. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple in honor of Vicki’s favorite color. Everyone is welcomed to attend.

The Chamber will be ordering 2019 Labor Law posters which feature the required federal and state notices on one poster. They will be available to Chamber members for $30.00 or/ non-member for $40.00 per poster. California businesses are required to post updated employment posters at each place of business. Contact the Chamber office at 257-4323 if you would like to have a poster ordered for your business.

The chamber board of directors is accepting applications to fill two board vacancies; one is an unexpired term that runs thru December 2020, vacant because of the recent passing of board member Vicki Lozano, and the second, is to begin a new three year term that will be created after Phil Fetterman’s term expires.  If you are a chamber member and are interested in applying to fill one of the board vacancies, stop by the Chamber office, located at 1516 Main Street, to pick up an application.

The Chamber office, located at 1516 Main Street, Susanville is open, Monday thru Friday, 9am to 4pm. The Chamber staff is available to provide area information, maps, visitor guides, and business information. Chamber members should be sure that the Chamber’s visitor lobby has an adequate supply of your business cards and brochures on hand to promote your business throughout the year. This is a free marketing service that is available to all Chamber members.
