Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Weekly Update

Its summer job time and LHS staff is ready to help you comply with the California Department of Education and Department of  Labor Work Permit requirements for summer employment of minors (under 18). Work permits will be valid from June 9th through August 25th. To begin the process, summer employees must go to the Safety Office at Lassen High and pick up their application for the work permit. A permit must be completed and returned to the high school; it generally takes one business day to issue the work permit. The LHS office is open, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4pm, until June 29th. For questions contact M. Medina at LHS at 257-2143.

Come find out if starting a business is right for you. Lassen Chamber, SCORE, and Plumas Bank will present a free “Business Start-up Basics” seminar on Wednesday, June 13, 2013, from 5:30 to 7:30pm at Plumas Bank Susanville, located at 3000 Riverside Drive. Learn the basics you need to know to start a business including writing a business plan, financial requirements, sources for financing, pricing and branding and much more. The board is accepting applications to fill two unexpired board vacancies. Chamber members who are interested in serving on the board are encouraged to apply. Contact the Chamber staff at 257-4323 for more information or to have an application forwarded to you. Deadline to submit a board application is Monday, June 11, 2018.

The 26th Annual Main Cruise Classic Car Show n’ Shine will be held on Saturday, June 30th,   classic cars will take to Memorial Park for the Show N’ Shine from 1 to 6pm.  Food, beverages, and a variety of vendors, including a beer garden, will be available during the event. Bring a lawn chair to enjoy the day and listen to live music featuring Forgery.  Log on to www.lassencountychamber.org  to download an application to showcase your classic car or enter a vendor booth.

The 2018 Lassen County Farmer’s Market will kick off the season on Saturday, June 9th, and will be held each Saturday, thru the month of September, 8am to 12 noon. The market will be located on Pancera Plaza in Historic Uptown Susanville. Call Market Manager Laura Medvin at 257-3252 or 310-4556 if you would like to participate or for more information.
