Make plans to attend the Thursday, November 16th, Chamber Mixer that will be Co-hosted by Northeastern Rural Health Clinic and Owens Pharmacy, from 5:30 to 7:30pm, at Northeastern Health Clinic located at 1850 Spring Ridge Drive, Susanville. Food and a no-host bar will be available. Everyone is welcomed to attend and we encourage you to bring a friend.
The Chamber will be ordering 2018 Labor Law posters which feature all required federal and state notices on one poster. They will be available for sale to Chamber members for $30ea. / or non-member for $40 per poster. California employers and businesses are required to post updated employment posters at each place of business. Pre-orders are now being taken; contact the Chamber office at 257-4323 if you would like to have a poster ordered for your business.
Soroptimist International of Susanville will be holding their annual See’s Candy Fundraise; sales help fund yearly community projects and scholarships. Candy sales will begin on November 20th and will be available at various locations including the Chamber office. Soroptimist members will also be at Susanville Supermarket the first three weekends of December selling boxed See’s Candy and Peanut Brittle, from noon to 3pm, each weekend. The California Competes Tax Credit is an income tax credit available to businesses that want to locate or stay and grow their business in California. The Governor’s office of Business and Economic Development (Go-Biz) will be holding an informational workshop “The California Competes Tax Credit” in Susanville Monday, December 4th, 10:30am to 11:30am, at the City Council Chambers located at 66 North Lassen Street, Susanville. The workshop will go over general information, the evaluation factors that make a business eligible for the tax credit, and the application period. The tax credit is available to all industries; there is no fee to apply, and 25% of the money that will be available for the tax credit is reserved for small businesses. The Annual Magical Country Christmas Celebration will be held Saturday, December 2nd, from 5-7pm, in Historic Uptown Susanville. The celebration will feature entertainment, Christmas Parade, Toys for Tots drive, and fireworks to ring in the Christmas season. Main Street will be closed to thru traffic during the celebration. This is a fun filled event for the whole family. Christmas Parade and vendor entry forms are available at the Chamber office or by logging on to lassencountychamber.org.
