K-9 Zeke and Officer Hoover Arrest Three During Busy Week

Susanville Police Department’s K-9 unit, comprised of K-9 officer Zeke and his partner Officer Mike Hoover, have had a busy week, chalking up three arrests and taking a large amount of controlled substances off of our community’s streets.

Shortly after 9:00p.m. on Friday, according to Susanville Police Chief Kevin Jones, K-9 Zeke and Officer Hoover were conducting an enforcement stop for a traffic violation when Zeke alerted to the vehicle, resulting in a search which revealed methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

A woman identified by police as 29-year old Lassen County resident Michelle Saders was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. The passenger of the vehicle, 30-year old Anthony Taylor, was arrested on a local felony warrant.

Sunday afternoon during another enforcement stop for a traffic violation K-9 Zeke once again alerted, resulting in a search of the vehicle which netted 27-grams of methamphetamine and evidence of sales of drugs.

According to Chief Jones, 46-year old Susanville resident Darrell Simmons was arrested and booked into the Lassen County Jail for possession of controlled substances for sale.
