Jim Egoa – May 20, 2020

Jim Egoa

Jim was born December 20, 1932 in Eagleville, Ca.  He passed away on May 20, 2020 in Susanville, CA.  He is survived by his brother, Joe Uruburu; his nephews Jim Uruburu and Ty Faytak, and many great nieces and nephews.

He grew up at his family’s ranch on Bass Hill.  As a teenager he learned to fly and asked his step father to buy him a plane.  His step father asked him what was in it for him.  Jim replied I can keep an eye on the cattle and sheep.  His step father then bought him a plane.  After his step father passed away in 1952.

In 1955 he, along with his mother, Maiya, and brother, Joe, moved to Oxnard, CA.  He later moved to Los Angeles and was married.  He was divorced several years later and then he moved back to Susanville with his mother and lived with her until her death.   Jim worked for the Forest Service for 23 years.  He had a very dry sense of humor.  Jim was an avid gun enthusiast and hunter.  He hunted right up until his death.  We will all miss him greatly.

Why Pre-plan?

Thinking about your own funeral leaves most people feeling a little uneasy, but more adults are finding that pre-planning a funeral offers great emotional and even financial security for them and their families. With pre-planning, families find comfort in knowing that the funeral reflects what their loved one wanted. It also gives them peace of mind to not have to make important decisions at a stressful time. Click here to visit Walton’s Funeral Home
