HOPE Food Pantry Open at Susanville United Methodist Church

There is no reason to go hungry! The United Methodist Church in Susanville has opened up the HOPE Food Pantry at 635 Cottage Street next to the church. HOPE, which stands for ‘Helping Other People Eat” will be open each Friday from 3:00 to 6:00p.m. serving anyone who needs food. No I.D. is required.

The church asks that you please wear a face mask if you have one due to COVID-19 concerns, they will ask all clients to stay in their cars, if driving, or wait on the sidewalk on the Cottage Street side of the church.

Organizers will bring you a list of what food is available so that you can select what you want. After that a volunteer “shopper” will get your food and bring it back to you.

The first time you receive food from the HOPE food pantry, you will need to complete a short form with basic information about you and your household but you do not need to bring any ID or proof of employment or residency with you.

The church always appreciates donations of non-perishable foods as well as personal hygiene items including:

  • Body soap
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Socks (new)
  • Toilet paper
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste

The pantry opens at 3:00p.m. and the church asks that you not arrive before 2:00. They will hand out numbers to ensure everyone is helped in an orderly manner.
