Lassen Municipal Utility District has announced that Greg Kitchen is the utility district’s Employee of the Year for 2020.
Kitchen began working for the district in 2005 as a laborer and promoted to meter reader in 2008.
In 2017, he began his meterman apprenticeship and was promoted to Journeyman Meterman on February 2nd, 2020. He now serves as LMUD’s only meterman.
“Through hard work and determination, Greg has moved from an entry-level position to his current position as Journeyman Meterman, said LMUD’s General Manager Doug Smith. “Greg is willing to tackle any project head on and the expertise he has developed is extremely valuable to the District.”
According to LMUD Public Relations Manager Theresa Phillips, Kitchen’s co-workers will tell you that there’s not much he can’t do. His expertise in handling trouble calls for high bills, solar installations and everything in between has made him the go-to guy for many of the district’s departments.
