Gallery: Sheriff Growdon Recognizes 2020 Accomplishments by Staff at Special Ceremony

A special ceremony was held on the lawn in front of the Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, and Sheriff Dean Growdon celebrated the accomplishments of nearly a dozen members of the LCSO family.

The event featured recent Academy graduates, the swearing in of a new officer, several promotions and the naming of Growdon’s Officers and Employees of the Year.

“This has been a very difficult year,” said Growdon, “and I am proud of all of the good work that everyone has done in supporting our mission.”

“It is an honor to be able to recognize the special accomplishments of some members of our LCSO family.”

Chris McMullen was promoted to the rank Correctional Deputy, Jessica Goni was promoted to Correctional Corporal, Derek Didisse will assume the rank of Correctional Sergeant, Amy Foster will be promoted to Correctional Lieutenant and John McGarva will be promoted to the rank of Captain.

Officers/Employees of the year:

Gabrielle Gatie was selected as the Sheriff’s Correctional Deputy of 2020. Shane Parker was named 2020 Deputy Sheriff of the Year and Dustin King was selected as 2020 Civilian Employee of the Year.

Meghan Monnahan Graduated from the Butte College Police Academy on December 4th.

Sheriff Growdon also swore in Richard Gatewood as a new officer.
