Forest Service Conducting Burn Operations Near Eagle Lake This Week

Lassen National Forest will be conducting prescribed fire operations on both the Hat Creek Ranger District and Eagle Lake Ranger District this week to promote ecosystem health and reduce hazardous fuels and the potential for severe wildland fire.

From January 11th through the 15th, smoke will be visible in the area of Coyote Reservoir on the Hat Creek Road.

Smoke will also be visible near the communities of Spalding and Stones Landing at Eagle Lake.

The Humpback and Orca units are in the Whaleback Fire area and Salty, Shay, Logs burn units are North and South of Champs Flat.
