Fire Safe Council and Antelope Camp Crews Making Eagle Lake Road ‘Fire Safe’

If you’ve noticed fire crews working along County Road A-1 or seen piles of brush in the right-of-way, that’s work being done by crews from the Antelope Conservation Camp.

This is a project sponsored by the Lassen County Fire Safe Council and runs from Highway 36 to Gallatin Road.

According to Cal-FIRE the purpose of the project is to reduce hazardous fuels and provide a fuel break for local homes.

The roadside piles will be burned when the weather changes and it is safe to do so.
