Enter Here to Win Tickets to this Saturday’s Symphony Concert on the Courthouse Lawn

The Susanville Symphony Society will present its first concert of the 2019-2020 season this Saturday, September 21st, with a special outdoor performance on the lawn of the historic courthouse on Lassen Street featuring legendary rock drummer Tony Savage and local favorite Phil Fetterman.

The annual Concert on the Green, which begins at 5:00p.m.,  features everything from pop music to well known classical selections and is always one of the most popular symphony dates of the year.

The atmosphere is festive and concert goers are encouraged to bring their own tables and chairs, picnic blankets and baskets, food, wine and whatever else suits their fancy.

Prizes and gift baskets are always awarded for the best dressed table.

“The show will feature rock legend Tony Savage, who has been hailed as one of the world’s greatest drummers,” said Symphony Artistic Director and Conductor Benjamin Wade.

According to Wade, English pop singer Engelbert Humperdinck cited Savage as the best musician he had ever had the privilege of working with.

Well-known local vocalist Phil Fetterman returns for an encore of Elvis Presley’s Can’t help Falling in Love, a song he performed to a standing ovation in last year’s pops concert.

On the classical side the symphony will perform the entire Carmen Suite by Bizet.

“A powerhouse lineup is slated for every age group and every genre,” said Wade.

Wade encouraged families to attend and announced that this year every child under 16 will get free admission, calling the event, “the healthiest, most family-friendly concert the Susanville Symphony has ever brought to Lassen County.”

You can purchase tickets at Margie’s Booknook, 722 Main Street, or Axia Home Loans at 2940 Riverside Drive  Suite C. Audience members bring lawn chairs and picnic baskets and set up early to get the best seats in the house.
